Oporto Allergen Checker

Tick the allergens you need to avoid and the checker hides every Oporto item that lists them. It reads Oporto's own allergen chart, which covers 52 of the 101 items we list, from the O Burger to the breakfast range. Items missing from the chart are flagged, never assumed safe.

How to use the Allergen Checker

01Tick each allergen you need to avoid, such as gluten, milk or egg.
02Watch items that list a ticked allergen drop out of the list.
03Note any items marked as not on the chart and check them separately.
04Open an item page to read its full allergen list before ordering.

Contains versus may contain traces

Oporto's chart separates two levels. Contains means the allergen is an ingredient. Trace means the item may contain traces through shared kitchen equipment or handling. An item with a trace warning still carries some risk, so people with severe allergies usually treat both levels as off limits. Each item page keeps both levels visible, so you always see why an item dropped out of your list.

Treat the chart as a starting point, not a promise. Recipes change and kitchens share fryers and grills, so tell the staff about a serious allergy when you order.

The chart covers the common allergen groups, including gluten, wheat, egg, milk, sesame, soy, fish, crustacean, peanut and sulphites. Tick only the ones that apply to you, or the list shrinks to almost nothing.

Where the chart has gaps

Only 52 of the 101 items appear on the chart by name. Bundles, share meals and kids meals are not listed, so the checker marks them as not on the chart instead of letting them slip through as safe. For those, check each component item or ask in store. Spicy Rice, Chips and Grilled Corn each have their own chart lines, which makes the sides easy to screen even when a bundle is missing.

Breakfast is well covered. The Breakfast Bowl, Breakfast Rappa, Bacon & Egg Burger and Hash Brown all have chart entries, so morning orders are easier to screen than late night specials.

Late night specials need the same care. The Extremely Feisty Burger, Schnitt Faced Burger and Jalapeno Poppers are on the chart, but check each one, since bacon, cheese and coated items bring their own allergens.

A checklist before you order

Start strict, then relax only what you know you tolerate. Trace warnings run across a large part of the menu, which shows how much of the kitchen is shared. Keep the checker open in a browser tab while ordering so you can check a last minute swap quickly.

Compare close relatives. The Bondi Burger, Oprego Burger and Otropo Burger look similar on the board, yet each has its own chart line. The Oprego Burger lists fish as present, while the Bondi Burger lists fish only as a trace, so check every burger rather than assuming they match. Desserts such as the Bola de Berlim and the Cookies and White Chocolate Loaded Churros deserve their own check too.

Save time on repeat visits by noting the few items that pass your filter. Then check again when Oporto updates its menu, because a new recipe changes the chart line even when the name stays the same.

Where does the allergen information come from?

It comes from the allergen chart Oporto publishes. This site is independent, so we reproduce the chart rather than test food, and recipes can change between updates.

How many Oporto items are on the allergen chart?

52 of the 101 items we list appear on the chart. The rest, mostly bundles and share meals, show as not on the chart so you can check their parts.

What does trace mean on the Oporto allergen chart?

Trace means the item may contain traces of that allergen, usually from shared equipment or handling. It is different from contains, which means the allergen is an ingredient.

Is any Oporto item guaranteed allergen free?

No. Kitchens share grills, fryers and prep areas, and Oporto's chart reflects that with trace warnings. Speak to staff about a serious allergy every time you order.

What should I do if an item is not on the chart?

Look up each component on its own item page, such as the burger and the side in a box. If a part is missing too, ask the store team before ordering.
